There are two PDF files attached. One is for the Youth/Boys and the other is for Girls. The names of the files are self evident. Please make sure you are familiar with the overtime and shootout policies and procedures. Neck laceration protector rules are in effect, as they have been for the entire season. The USA Hockey Tournament Guidebook is available online.

Of specific for the youth/boys tournament:

  • Teams must be ready to play 15 mins prior to the scheduled start time. This means the officials must be ready to go on the ice 15 mins prior to the scheduled start time. Please adjust your arrival time at the rink accordingly.
  • Time outs will not be allowed until the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final games.
  • Overtime will not be played until the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final games.
  • Officials do not take part in any tie breaking discussions during round-robin play. That is for the tournament committee.
  • Standard period and penalty lengths will apply.
  • All games will be played to completion. There is no provision for ending a game with time still on the game clock.
  • Not withstanding the above, for Tier 4 games only, if there is a six goal differential during the third period running time will apply. If the deficit drops to below six goals, then stop time will be in effect.

For the girls tournament:

  • Ice slots have been scheduled to allow plenty of time between games. Please plan your arrival based on the scheduled start time. Do not assume that the tournament will be running late.
  • Officials are to be the first ones on the ice surface after the Zamboni is finished. After safety checks are complete, the officials will invite the teams on the ice. All teams are aware of this. Be ready to go on the ice immediately after the Zamboni finishes.
  • Time outs will not be allowed until the semifinal, and final games. There are no quarterfinal games for girls.
  • There will be an ice cut between the 2nd and 3rd periods for 14U T1, 14U T2, 16U T2, and 19U T2. There will be ice cuts between every period for 16U T1 and 19U T1. There will be ice cuts before overtime only for the 16U T1 and 19U T2 semis and finals.
  • Overtime will not be played until the semifinal, and final games.
  • Officials do not take part in any tie breaking discussions during round-robin play. That is for the tournament committee.
  • Standard period and penalty lengths will apply.
  • There is no provision for running time for the girls tournament.
